No Rest For the Wicked Actual Play – Part Deux

1d4cast_AP_itunes_logo

Here is April’s episode. One last in before 1d4Con. Hope to see you there!

It’s a short actual play of Monica’s Apocalypse World hack, called “No Rest For The Wicked”. Joining us this time is Monica who was voluntold to MC for us, Steve, Katie (Dirtskirt) and James.

This is our 6th non-campaign AP episode and is Steve or James’ second go around with the system; however, it is Katie’s first time with a *World game. If you know anything about us, hilarity and mishap definitely ensue… This is a really short episode. We recreate history between the James and Steve’s characters and add Katie’s to the mix. This is sort of a weird sequel to the first game, but enjoyable nevertheless.

MC – Monica

Players:
- Steve as the Soldier (Leo)
- James as the Mechromancer (Turing)
- Katie as the Gunzerker (Snuggles)

Hope you enjoy.

Episode 22 – Post-Apocalyptic Bullshit Cyber Elves

*WARNING* This podcast is explicit!

Hello Everyone!

Let me first apologize for the tardiness of this episode. It was recorded for February and was supposed to be out last week. With 1d4Con’s Pre-registration opening last Saturday and all the stuff that needed to be done, I just couldn’t make the time until now.

Now, I present to you our episode about Indie Games. More specifically, the rise and relevance of such games. This is the first episode since September that we’ve have the full cast on. I was able to make it back, despite having my Wisdom teeth pulled recently. There is some discussion about 1d4Con and other conventions and we read two emails. Once we make it to the topic, we start out with a little history lesson, get into how the movement took off and what was affected by it, and then we talk about our changing personal preferences in accordance with the gaming hobby.

Hope you enjoy!

Episode 21 – More Game For Your Buck!

1d4cast_itunes_logo_huge_NEW

Hello Everyone! Happy New Year, despite the fact that January is now at it’s end! I had full intention of being on this episode, but I got hit by a nasty stomach virus the day we were to record. Rather than delay, I asked the others to continue without me.

The topic of this episode is Games That Won’t Break Your Wallet. Monica suggested we talk about this after she did a similar panel at a Convention. If we would have had a MAGFest Panel, this would have been the topic. Anyway, the focus is mainly on Free or Low Cost games that don’t require a ton of monetary buy-in. Most of our links are to to PDFs, but we do throw in occasional links to print copies for some games.

The list below is pretty comprehensive, but is in no way complete. So, if you have games you want to tell us about that we missed in this list, a correction about something in the episode, or even a question, let us know. Write us a comment to this post, send us an email (1d4cast at gmail dot com), or use our contact form. We’d love to hear from you and will read your replies in the next episode if we can.

Thank you for listening, and enjoy the show!

2013 – A huge thank you!

1d4cast_logo_NEW_trans

We just wanted to send out a huge thank you to all of those who helped up raise money for David and his family. We raised $215. Every little bit goes a long way in helping get their lives back in order and getting to Japan. We wish the Hill family our best!

Also, thank you so much to our listeners! We really appreciate the feedback that has been given in our past couple of episodes. 2013 was awesome, but here’s to making 2014 even better! Happy holidays to everyone out there! See all of you in the new year!

P.S. If you are going to MAGFest in January, touch base with us using email, our website’s contact form, twitter, Facebook or Google+ to let us know. Maybe some of us can hang out!
